Middle Class Scale

Classes - the ultimate factor of division of the masses on this planet. Whatever continent, country or region one may reside in the idea of classes exists. You may deny it but unconsciously you are always judging a fellow human on the basis of his/her class, especially the finances. Every habitat (may/may not include the Sentinelese people) broadly classifies their citizens on the basis of finances. The governments may tell you that the classifications are meant only for managing the resources but on a individual level each one judges, including those working for the governments.

Oh! Looks like I have deviated from the intent of this post. Don't worry this post is not meant to judge the people who judge others (else we would all be like dogs chasing their own tails).

So the society is divided (in terms of finances) into three major classes - Upper, Middle and Lower. How do you identify which class you belong to? Well that's simple, your lifestyle, income and a quick google search of how your country defines taxes you should make that clear.

But apart from the above mentioned major classes we have a subdivision within the classes as well. Me being from middle class, I know for sure that middle classes have - rich middle class, upper middle class, middle middle class and lower middle class. I ain't sure if the other two classes - upper and lower - have this level of segregation. If you belong to one of these then do let me know in the comments.

So let me continue with the middle class. These sub-classes don't have a clear lines of distinction to tell one from another. Most of middle class consider themselves to belong to a level lower than what they are, while their neighbor appears to be in the upper level. #middleClassMentality.

But worry not my friend, I have come to the rescue. Having spent time far from home, I have lived in the luxuries of the rich (start of month) and the difficult times of the poor (end of month) and everything in between. This has helped me to devise a scale of classification for the middle class.

All hail as I give you the scale of classification - The Toothpaste.

Wait. Hear me out. The toothpaste is one of the things that can be found in almost all middle class households. How does one classify based on this you ask me. The toothpaste can only give you the scale during its last few days in the family. The way a house uses a toothpaste in its last days tells you what category they fall in.

The rich middle class can also be called as the "Flaters". I know there is no such word as Flaters. Its a word coined by me. These people only use the toothpaste tube till it gets flat and then toss it off. Here's an image for reference.

The next in line are the "Head Turners" aka upper middle class. The toothpaste sees the bin when head of the tube has turned to either of the sides. Something like this.

The "Brush rollers" are the next. The middle middle class will roll and curl the tube till they are satisfied that the last ounce of paste has left the tube only then do they throw it away.

Lastly are the "Cutters". As the name says it, they cut open the paste tube from the base and make sure that they have used it all. When you are in the lower middle class nothing should go to waste.

Now that I have given you the key, think about the category that you fall in. And happy judging when you visit someone's home trying to find the toothpaste.😂

PS: This is not a sponsored post.
PPS: Don't try and judge me on the above pics, they were shot explicitly for this post.😉😂
