A hope found, A life lost

' Fuck you, Jai! I wish you had never come into my life ', she said and banged the door as she left. For next hour, Jai was just sitting in the corner of his house, murmuring, ' Priya, No. Priya, please '. Tears rolling down his eyes. His mind went back to the time, when he first met Priya. It was during the summer vacations after finishing his 9th grade exams. Jai was on his way to the standard 10th classes, when Priya had entered his society with her parents. He was starstruck by her. Priya had been his first and only crush till now. After 7 years and changing multiple boyfriends, Priya had finally come to see Jai's love for her. This had been 3 months ago. But now, it was all lost again for Jai. Priya D'Souza had finally decided to settle down with her ex - Rohan. She used to tell (Jai), that her family was forcing her to marry a catholic guy. But today, it seemed as if, she had been lying all this time. Overcome with grief, he went to the k...

Story Of Evolution - Part 3

A long time ago (soon after apes started learning to walk erect), in some (same) land far far away, the wild fire had consumed most of the resources of the Lall troop. The apes were learning to walk, as the days passed. But with the passing time also came the shortage of food. The apes had previously relied on trees for food (Yes, the apes were vegetarians). With only few scattered trees being available there had been constant quarrels in the troop. The strong ones would bully the weaklings over it. Grrr, Rerr, Akti and few others were facing constant shortage of food due to this inequality. Among these was Jhol, the hungry (That was Jhol's title, so you might have guessed, why he was expelled from his previous clan). He went into the charred forest in search of something to eat. He initially picked up some berries. The fire had amazingly changed the taste. Tasting this amazing treat the fire had offered, he decided to go in further to find something more (both in terms o...

Story of Evolution - Part 1

A long time ago (thousands of years before humans evolved), in some land far far away, lived Grrr the ape. Grrr was happy living amidst the trees with his troop, till one particular day (ya there is always a particular day for the story). The skies became dark with sadness and began crying loudly (or so the apes thought). And this time with sadness came the anger in form of sparks and noises. These things were quite common for the troop except for Grrr. He had been expelled from his previous troop for being the laziest, but fortunately he was taken in by his current troop. A troop formed by the expelled apes. This troop occupied the most horrid region - few trees, less vegetation, prone to floods and droughts - under the leadership of Lall. Lall was strong and smart, but was expelled by his previous troop for being too horny. Every ape in this troop had a past in some other troop. Lall had taken charge as usual and was guiding the troop uphill to a more safer place. Grrr ...

Through the Lens

This time I thought I would interview people, more precisely photographers. This thought came like a bolt out of the blue. I thought of photographers for my interview cause they capture the world in a different aspect. Just kidding. The true reason was, I could easily find a few friends interested in photography via Instagram. Easy work for a lazy fellow. Opened my Instagram, filtered few pics and selected 2 people to interview. My first interviewee being Sneha(SK). Me: Hello Sneha, How are you? SK: I'm good. (skipping all unwanted convo and coming to relevant part..) Me: What is the difference between a photographer and a normal person, apart from the difference in cameras?  SK: The way one perceives the world. The photographer sees only as much as his camera can capture. This actually helps in eliminating the irrelevant things attached to it and creates a better story. Me: Wow! I didn't understand a thing here. Could you tone down the phil...

Random Stuff

As the clock struck 12 at night, valentine's day messages started flooding in in the WhatsApp groups. Oh sorry, that was just 3-4 messages in 2-3 groups, not something one would call flooding in ;). But that is a lot of lovey-dovey messages for a single guy, so I just put my phone in airplane mode and went off to sleep. This morning I logged into Facebook and my god! The news feed was filled with valentine's day special messages by all the couples and anti-valentine posts shared by the singles. Valentine's Day has become more like a war, between the couples and the singles, on social media. Just to get one thing clear people, its Valentine's Day and not valentines day. People are just so lazy to use punctuation these days. Among all these V-Day war posts, I read a real cool message from Capital letters, which showed the difference between 'Helping Uncle Jack off the horse' and 'helping uncle jack off the horse'. Hilariously true, I say. ...

The Travel Companion

Sitting in the bus, wondering what to write next. Oh, this time I was seriously out of some good topic. No new post on 'What the Brain Thinks' would only mean, my brain ceased to think. There were some interesting things that did happen in the week though, but they are personal I would say. Some things are better not shared with everyone.Well now you know, I'm a little modest. So I was in the bus travelling home, and some old lady(I would refer to her as granny) was sitting next to me. I was lost in my own world(of nothingness), with my headphones on, blocking out all the chaos or silence that was there. Just then the granny tapped my arm. I partially removed my headphones and turned towards her. She looked in her early 60's, draped in a green saree with a hint of yellow here and there. I had never observed her until now, in my 30 odd minutes of travel. How ignorant I was to my surrounding. She smiled and asked where I was going in Mumbai. I told her my...

Abandoned

Today I was astonished at what I saw at the society's gate. Usually there are a bunch of stray dogs roaming at the gate. These dogs are looked after by the people working at the construction sites, living in their makeshift houses nearby. Even though these people are struck by financial constraints, they take good care of the strays. These dogs in-turn guard the houses when the workers are not around. A good example, of mutual understanding, one could say. But today among these stray dogs was a well bred, Labrador Retriever. This view just froze my legs. At first I assumed the Labrador had gone astray from his(could also be a her, never checked) owner and these street thugs were bullying him. I even called out to the security guard to shoo away the strays to save the Labrador. The guard replied that the dogs had been playing together from morning. So I just stopped and looked, thinking the guard had cynophobia (fear of dogs) and was lying. But to my wonderment, the dogs w...

The View Point

I just got down from the bus, and started walking towards home. It always feels so good to go home after a week or two. Thinking about all the delicacies I would be having for dinner tonight. Oh yum, all the fish and the meat prepared by mom. Oh, FUCK! I twisted my ankle in the damn potholed road. Curse the BMC for making such roads filled with potholes. No wait, I find no trace of road here. I guess these municipal authorities don't ever give a damn about these service roads. With a sprained leg, I continued walking towards home. The thoughts of good food, replaced by curses for the contractors and BMC. As I was crossing the road, a rich bugger in his BMW decided to jump the signal. At that speed he would have just run the car over me. But thankfully the pothole came to my rescue. The BMW went BANG! at the road creating a serious dent to it. And with that jerk the rich kid decided to slow down drastically. I crossed the road safely and wondered where I would have bee...

Living The Reverse

A cold evening, I was walking down the campus of my work-place. Its a beauty campus with great roads (not a smallest pit), trees planted on both the sides with a hedge acting like a divider to the road. One of the best campuses ever that an IT company has. Well, if you haven't been able to guess it, let me help you. Its, Infosys Pune. This place is the perfect blend of green and grey. Every building(development block) is surrounded by nature. The campus has almost maintained the flora and fauna of the place even after hosting 10,000 plus employees in its 13 plus buildings. So, where was I? Oh yeah, I was walking down the campus, when I saw a cat about to cross my path. Seeing that I ran and crossed the path of the cat before It could cross mine. Then I turned back to see, what the cat would do, whether it would turn back and go back few steps or wait for someone to pass. But it did nothing like that. It just continued on its path, not giving a damn about my actions. If a c...

What makes me a Living Being

Image
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... Royson, a school going kid, was walking down the streets of Mumbai on a planet named, The Earth. He had a bag laden with books and no one to accompany him on an endeavor to reach school. He was thinking what makes him a living being and the school bag he was carrying a non-living object. Wait a second, who am I kidding. If I had thoughts like these while I was going to school I would have been the founder of 'Patanjali Ayurved' and not some tummy-less baba. Okay, so now I have offended some intolerant devotee, who might now look me up on the internet, hunt me down and throw ink at my face. If at all there is some guy like this reading this post and planning to throw ink at me, I would like to give you a lil heads-up. I am a dark guy so ink might not work, u better come with some whitener. Okays, coming back to my post. It was not the kid Royson who had these thoughts, but the Royson typing out this post. A few days ago, I was ...
