A hope found, A life lost

' Fuck you, Jai! I wish you had never come into my life ', she said and banged the door as she left. For next hour, Jai was just sitting in the corner of his house, murmuring, ' Priya, No. Priya, please '. Tears rolling down his eyes. His mind went back to the time, when he first met Priya. It was during the summer vacations after finishing his 9th grade exams. Jai was on his way to the standard 10th classes, when Priya had entered his society with her parents. He was starstruck by her. Priya had been his first and only crush till now. After 7 years and changing multiple boyfriends, Priya had finally come to see Jai's love for her. This had been 3 months ago. But now, it was all lost again for Jai. Priya D'Souza had finally decided to settle down with her ex - Rohan. She used to tell (Jai), that her family was forcing her to marry a catholic guy. But today, it seemed as if, she had been lying all this time. Overcome with grief, he went to the k...

Story Of Evolution - Part 4

A long time ago (after the apes became omnivores - to know more check previous part ), in some land far far away, the apes (Lall troops and others that followed him) had evolved to use fire well, given to them by the lightning god. The troop whenever it found fire used to preserve it, and would light up an entire forest on a hot day. The walking apes, got their food from this magic of fire. Fire was a blessing indeed. The troop had grown in number and migrated to different places as the food diminished. ('Strong troop it is, must say Yoda' - If Yoda had existed during those times :p) With increasing troop size, Grrr and Akti had lost their fame. Lall was the one who got all the credits for the prosperity of the troop. Grrr was too lazy to speak for himself and Akti was too silly to see the perks. Rerr was angry with her hubby and her friend for this. And to fuel this frustration, there was Droy. Droy would always - sneak up and scare her, steal the food, make her ...

A call for Helping the Helpers

Goooaaallll .... Yes, the Euro is here. What excitement running around all the football fans. Oh well, this excitement is there all year round with all the premier leagues, champions league and so on. This is not just the case with football. Cricket also has similar effects, with the international matches and premier leagues and so on. This passion is not just limited to sports. It is there for movies, shows, parties and many other things related to entertainment. Its so deeply inrooted in our lives, that we are ready to shed as much ever money for it. But, would we shell out money for anything more necessary? I doubt. Let me narrate a recent incident. I was at this luxurious dine place (don't recall the name), with my friends. While we were having our dinner, I happened to overhear the guy from the neighboring table. He was complaining about the new 0.5% Krishi Vikas cess (aka Krishi Kalyan cess - KKC) levied on the bill. His argument was, 'Why should I pay this ...

Kasarsai Dam and Beyond

Image
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Famous proverb, agreed by many, followed by few. Well, I'm one of those, who follows this from the heart. And I have my own version of it. It goes something like this No road trip, makes roy ma sad boy. Pretty lame, huh. If you have anything better, do mention it in the comments. So this time, I set out on a trip to Kasarsai Dam with my friend Zeyn . One does not always ride solo, cause even Han Solo is not solo. He always has Chewbacca for company. (For those who don't know Han Solo and Chewbacca, go watch Star Wars). And yes, me and Zeyn are like Han Solo and Chewie. Okay. Now coming back to the trip. I had been to Kasarsai a few times earlier as well. Its a pretty nice place - with a serene environment, the sound of lapping water, chirping of birds, wind blowing on your face and finally the pleasant view of the setting sun. Kasarsai in its glory.
