A call for Helping the Helpers
Goooaaallll.... Yes, the Euro is here. What excitement running around all the football fans. Oh well, this excitement is there all year round with all the premier leagues, champions league and so on.
This is not just the case with football. Cricket also has similar effects, with the international matches and premier leagues and so on.
This passion is not just limited to sports. It is there for movies, shows, parties and many other things related to entertainment. Its so deeply inrooted in our lives, that we are ready to shed as much ever money for it. But, would we shell out money for anything more necessary? I doubt.
Let me narrate a recent incident. I was at this luxurious dine place (don't recall the name), with my friends. While we were having our dinner, I happened to overhear the guy from the neighboring table. He was complaining about the new 0.5% Krishi Vikas cess (aka Krishi Kalyan cess - KKC) levied on the bill. His argument was, 'Why should I pay this extra 0.5% to help some poor farmer? Its the governments responsibility not mine.' and so on.
Note for the ignorant: The KKC was levied by the government to help finance the Indian agriculture and is in effect from 1st June, 2016.

That's when I had this little realization. We are ready to spend at some overrated place, but not help the starving farmers.
Have we forgotten that its their hard-work that is feeding us and not the money itself. Are we so blinded by the lights of entertainment?
People in entertainment business earn way more than the farmers. I am not implying that the entertainers shouldn't be rewarded for their talents. But what I want to say is - are the laboring farmers not deserving enough. Can't we do anything to help them.
The solution to it - I do not know yet.
Put in your ideas in the comments. If the solution is feasible enough, we all shall try to implement it at our own individual and/or community level.
