Story Of Evolution - Part 4

A long time ago (after the apes became omnivores - to know more check previous part), in some land far far away, the apes (Lall troops and others that followed him) had evolved to use fire well, given to them by the lightning god. The troop whenever it found fire used to preserve it, and would light up an entire forest on a hot day.

The walking apes, got their food from this magic of fire. Fire was a blessing indeed. The troop had grown in number and migrated to different places as the food diminished. ('Strong troop it is, must say Yoda' - If Yoda had existed during those times :p)

With increasing troop size, Grrr and Akti had lost their fame. Lall was the one who got all the credits for the prosperity of the troop. Grrr was too lazy to speak for himself and Akti was too silly to see the perks.

Rerr was angry with her hubby and her friend for this. And to fuel this frustration, there was Droy. Droy would always - sneak up and scare her, steal the food, make her young one cry and other things - irritate Rerr and other angry apes (in a modern world Droy would have been branded a sadist). But other apes never cared for this. 

Rerr had a sister named, Riii. Riii was short on tamper, and hard at fights. She was always there to protect here little Rerr (very few apes had such strong blood bond). Riii would never let Droy be anywhere near Rerr, when she was around.

One particular day, (yes, the climax of this story) Droy saw Rerr gathering her food from the charred forest. He sneaked up close and startled Rerr. He also grabbed the food and went up fleeing. Riii was on her way to help her little sister. Droy in his attempt to flee from Rerr, bumped into Riii. Infuriated Riii, grabbed the closest stone - a sharp canonical one - and threw it hard at Droy.

The stone pierced Droy through and through. Droy was down, lifeless, with blood gushing - like a flooded river - from the wound. Few of the apes around were shocked at first, but this pity for Droy faded as they got fascinated by the stone that killed.

Death of Droy, had provided the apes with one of the most valuable thing - Weapon. Droy was soon forgotten and Riii had become the talk of town for finding the stone that killed.
