At the Coffee Machine

It all began with a cup, actually 2 small paper cups - white from the inside, with graffiti like prints on the outside. Like best friends they support one another. Alone they might not have been able to handle it, but united they are strong. This paper cup bond meets two perfect snow-white cubes of sugar. Perfectly polished, devoid of bagasse, they tumble down into the cup, one besides the other. A while later, you can hear the grinding as coffee beans in the transparent casing slide to replace their friends. And then with a slurping noise the brown liquid oozes down into the cup. The sugar cubes absorbing every drop, turning brown from bottom up until there is no more of white remaining. Moments later, a foggy mist appears above the cup, like the magician conjuring up for a show and then in the blink of the eye, the hot white milk has drowned the cubes. The cubes giving away their sweetness in this beautiful amalgamation of milk and coffee, the sacrifice to reduce the bi...

It is Real

Main jindagi ka saath nibhaata chala gaya.. Har fikr ko dhunen men udaata chala gaya.. Wait! This is what we have been doing this entire time. We are smoking (dhunen m uda rahe hai) everything, to the extent that we need to ban some important things. This is not above any of the things discussed until now. The above song - irrelevant, aforementioned ban - irrelevant. The relevant topic is... (wait for it).. Climate Change Yes, you heard it right. Climate change is a real thing. Oh yes! This is in respect to some recent video by some famous personality who commented something silly, and he has some pretty big fan following, so it goes out to those bhakts (followers) as well. And no. Climate change is not a propaganda by the Chinese, as another famous personality seems to have stated few months back. Climate change is just as real as The Emergency, 2G Scam, Intolerance, Communal Violence or Demonetization. Oh sorry, the last point is still debatable, thoug...

Sonu

Image
"Sonu catch", the elder brother called out as he threw the tennis ball. No sooner had the ball made contact with his hand, there was a kick on his stomach. Coughing, he woke up from sleep. "Get up, chotte. It's getting late. Pick up your bowl and run at the signal. If you are not there in 5 minutes, I'll thrash you like the dog you are", scowling the brute moved out of the room. Rubbing his aching tummy, from under the rags, Sonu picked up the bowl and limped through the door. Regretting the day when he followed this brute, in temptation of chocolates. Only if he had listened to his brother and stayed back, this dream would have been a reality. He wiped the tears, flowing down his face. Sonu could be any kid, in our society. Never neglect such incidents. Probably this video will create awareness.

Scent of Mumbai

*Sniff* *Sniff* *Aachoo...* The most ignored sensory organ for most of us and yet sometimes it functions surprisingly. The role of the nose is noticed, when there is some intense scent that actuates it. I call it the most ignored cause even if your sense of smell is not functional, no one bothers about it, unless the nose is entirely missing, like that of Voldemort or Tyrion (from the books). This post should have been out a few weeks back, but excuse my indolence. So a few weeks back, there were 3 festivities in Mumbai. To start with, there was Ganesh chaturthi/visarjan . Each house or mandal (committee) that hosted the elephant god was filled with the scent of various agarbattis (incense sticks), heightened during the time of pooja (prayers). This bore a sense of positivity to almost all. The next thing to be noticed was the staunch smell of goats being cared for, before the advent of Eid ka chand (crescent moon). Some like it, others despise it, but every n...

Baithe baithe mann m Khayal aya hai...

Love is always referenced with the Heart. When in reality it is a chemical locha in the Brain (like all other emotions). Twisted 🤔 . Do post your comments on this.

Working Class Heroes

* Tee -Tee -Tee -Te -Te -Tee -Tee -Tee *,    * Trun-Trun-Trun-Trun *,    * Wake Up Sid * 3 alarms, 3 locations, 3 lives - 6 AM. * Tee -Tee -Tee -Te -Te -Tee -Tee -Tee * Deepak who had been awake for past 5 minutes, reaches for his Nokia C3 to turn off the alarm. Sitting up in his sleeping mat, he looks at his wife and children sleeping in peace. With a hopeful smile he turns to his wife and stirs her up, "Aeji, get up. Its past 6 already. The alarm has been ringing for a long time. Get up, I'll be late today." In her sleepy voice she replied, "Hmm.. Its not late I know. I saw you turning off the alarm." Carefully setting herself free from her young daughters cuddle, she woke and went in to the kitchen, washed her face and called out, "Ooji, go take a shower, and fill the buckets as well before the water stops". Then she went on with preparing breakfast and tiffin for her husband. Deepak got up folding the bed-sheets and the mat and we...

The Unusual Visit

Piyush was staring at the blue gate, contemplating whether he wanted to go in or not. He had planned this visit more than a month back but never could he muster the courage to do it until now. And what would he tell at home? Why did it take so long for him to get back? If he would tell the truth they would have been proud and even gone about telling it to the neighbours. But he did not want the world to know about this expedition of his. After a lot of planning and procrastinating, he was finally here - in front of a two storied bungalow painted in orange tinge, bordered by poster covered grey compound walls and the blue gate. Finally, he made up his mind, cause he would be cheating himself if he turned back now. He began looking around for a bell or something to open the gate. On the compound wall adjacent to the gate, was a message painted in red - Pull rope for bell - with a crooked arrow pointing in at the small hole between the gate and the wall. He reached for ...
