Dear Prime Minister,

I hope you are doing well. With all the election rallies, flying overseas and attending a ton of launch events it must be really cumbersome. And as you are ageing your resistance to cold might be decreasing as you once mentioned in a session with school children. Medical facilities are growing expensive in private hospitals (ET: 4 NCR Hospitals jacked up prices of branded drugs 12 fold: NPPA) and the deteriorating state of many public hospitals (News18: Public Healthcare On Life Support: A Day in Delhi’s Government Hospitals), we wouldn't want you to be growing sick. With Rahul Gandhi wearing a 70k jacket (Zee: Rahul Gandhi wears Rs 70K jacket in Meghalaya; BJP's turn for 'suit-boot' jibe), I would suggest that even you get something along that line to protect from climate change. Sorry beloved leader, I meant growing cold. I guess, I took it a little too far with the climate change statement made in 2014 and I surely appreciate the efforts by the government in increasing renewable energy (BS: Government is on its way to achieving 175 GW target for installed Renewable Energy capacity by 2022).

Sir, the other biggest concern that me and most other youth have today is related to economics. Most of the working class are paying their fair share of direct taxes and the entire population paying indirect taxes at one point in time, it pains to know when people like Nirav Modi elope with government treasuries. Even after such big scam, BJP and Congress are playing blame game (LiveMint: BJP, Congress blame each other for PNB fraud, trade barbs on Nirav Modi). Its no time for that. No doubt it started under UPA term, but it has been going around for over 3 years under your term as well. Learn to take responsibilities and work on amending the wrong. You had started with demonetisation to get hold of black money. I don't know if that was exactly the intention, cause with the majority of currency coming back to RBI it just seems like it was an opportunity for money launderers. Even you have shifted focus from Black money to terrorist funding to digitisation. The harm to economy has been done as predicted by the former governor of RBI, Raghuram Rajan (HT: Raghuram Rajan breaks silence, says neither he nor RBI under him wanted demonetisation). I do not expect you to be all knowing, but you are supposed to heed people who are masters in the field. Its been more than a year since. Thankfully, we did not have major natural calamities in this period else the entire country would have gone to ruin. The poor supporters of demonetisation are happy because they think the rich lost money, even though they had to endure pain. But no one exactly knows that to be true. No doubt, you helped people learn the importance of banking system but there is a difference between forcing and convincing. We are a democracy and you have been elected by the people so be sure to evaluate the pros and cons and having a discussion with the scholars before making such huge announcements like a king.

As I am on this topic of banking and digitisation, I appreciate your effort of linking Aadhaar to bank accounts to flush out fake accounts. But we do not have proper laws for cyber security and we want a digital nation. Sounds absurd. I would suggest laying down some ground rules to ensure trust of people to go digital. You have more smart people surrounding you. It would be good if you took some suggestions from them for a change. By smart, I do not mean the minister who scrapped Darwin's Theory of Evolution (Guardian: Indian education minister dismisses theory of evolution).

I think this is enough to start with, even though your tenure is about to end in an year. If you do get time, try talking on mob lynching, communal discontent and reservations. These are the matters not only for elections but also when it affects the people the most. Talking on these issues, means talking against it and why its bad, just thought I should clarify.

Last but not least, thanks for taking initiative to start Swach Bharat Abhiyan. Though it needs to be implemented in a better fashion, but at least it has started. I hope people will change thanks to this.

Yours sincerely,
A considerate Indian.
