Team Infy @ Alibaug and more...
This one is about the trip after I left Infosys. There are one too many trips that I have been in past 2-12 months that I have not written about, including trip to Manali. So, please bear with me. A good old saintly person by the name of Baba Roysonath once said - Better late than never.

Next day at 5am I get a call that the bus is reaching in 15 minutes, come at the gate of the society. And I was still in bed, sleeping through the alarm, woken up by the call. Somehow I mustered strength to get out of bed, get ready, pack the bag and meet with others boarding from the same place.
The bus which was supposed to reach in 15 minutes, did take quarter to an hour to reach our pickup spot but finally we were going. Going to sleep in the bus. More than half of the lot had dozed off in the first hour of the journey. Baba Roysonath also said - A good night's sleep is must before every trip. In this case there was no good night's sleep so a power nap of few hours was all that was required to get everyone back to the 'Yoo-hoo we are going to the beach' feel.

For those of you, hoping the trip to be a bike ride. Surprise! Surprise! This is a no bike ride trip with the exception of Famous Patel (will explain later).
Nearly after 3-4 hours of - sleeping, clicking, mastiing, breakfasting and more mastiing - travel we finally reached Alibaug beach.
At Alibaug we waited for Nikhil who was coming from Mumbai by bike. Yes, this is Famous Patel. Nikhil is that guy who is in every group of your workplace - known by all, loved by all.
Like every tourist visiting Alibaug we also visited the Alibaug fort. Because cliche is the essence of humanity. Alibaug fort is located a little away from the shore amidst the sea. But the better part is one can walk their way to and fro from the beach to the fort when the tide is low. For those who don't mind wasting a little cash can get a jetty or a carriage ride to the fort and back.

We walked it to the entrance of the fort, clicked more pics on the way, had street delicacies like - jujube fruits (more commonly known as bore in Hindi) and raw mangoes (kairi in Hindi).
The weather was too hot to roam the fort so we turned our steps back to the beach and to the bus.
From there we got to the resort where we were going to spend our night. But before we get to the night there was a whole day to be spent. Reached the resort, changed and jumped in the pool. This is how you relax on a sunny afternoon. After more pool mastiing we stepped out for lunch and then to Nagaon beach.
What do you do when you get an empty beach and you have a bat and ball along. Simple, you play cricket. And so we played, in the hot sun. Man of the match being Famous Patel. The game, its discussion and chai gave enough time for the Sun to start fading in the horizon. Such a setting on the beach calls for more pics. Not just simple pics, but pics with a lot of posing, jumping and splashing.

The night at the resort was more than just normal talks and laughs. But somethings are better not discussed on a blog so I'll take the liberty of skipping it. Just so you can imagine, if you are smart enough that is, there was bonfire which went on pretty late into the night.
The late night resulted in a late morning. Around noon we began for Murud-Janjira. The route via Kashid beach is nice. Constant coolness provided by the breeze in the scorching sun. Pleasant music provided by our travel DJ Aviral just set the mood right.
The only thing to do at Murud is visit the Murud-Janjira fort. The fort is located right in the sea and ferry is the only possible way to get there unless you have a private Helicopter. The ferry is no luxury ride and plus its filled to its max cap, so it even gets a little uncomfortable if you are in the center. The side boards are better but they come with the risk of you slipping in the water. So its a trade-off and either ways you don't get to decide where to sit. The ferry owners decide. Ferry is cool both figuratively and literally.
A bit of advice. Opt for the guide only if you are a history freak, and even in that case the knowledge derived from them needs to be cross-examined. Again there were plenty of photo sessions. Its the only thing to do in such a crippling place out in the burning heat. We even found the photo k liye kuch bhi karega guy in the group.
No idea how the people back then worked to build the fort. Another bit of advice - there is no decent food place around so BYOB (bring your own bread).
We set back to Pune in the evening. Had our lunch cum dinner on the way and finally reached late at night.
It was an involuntary decision, but none the less a good one. Can never disagree on that.
