Sunburnt

Atop the hill, lights flashing, speakers bursting, bodies jumping. This my friend is how Sunburn feels like. Oh...ya, me finally been to Sunburn, thanks to my friends and the Goa government. Why thank the Goa government?? Its cause they decided to ban such music fests in their state and so Sunburn came to Pune.

Now that I told we been to Sunburn, let me start with how the planning began.

Unlike normal chindi people who plan months in advance to get early-bird tickets, we started few days before. We aren't rich buggers, we are chindis but also lazy, so it all begins a few days before. Tickets are booked and so is a cab. Cab, cause we don't drink and drive (more out of the fear of being caught by the cops in this case #EveryOneIsNotBhai)

29th Dec, 2016 - Day 2 of Sunburn, we began our journey. Had a little food, a little booze(literally little), few EDM tracks lined up in the cab to get the feel. The feel came and the feel left, in the 3 hour long traffic. Traffic can be a real pain in the ass (literally). That's how the amazing Sunburn experience began.

After painstaking traffic we finally reached the foot of the Sunburn hill. But the jam was like a leech, not ready to part until it suck-out all the excitement. There was a zigzag road to the top lined by vehicles that hardly moved. Our sources (Twitter) told us that DVLM (the main attraction of the day) will be live at 8:15pm and it was already past 7:45pm now.

In few minutes we are out of the cab, walking, faster, more faster, almost running. We move to the BoxOffice, collect the tickets and before we realize we are trekking our way to the top, sometimes on all fours, breathing the dust (down to earth people we are).

Time seemed to pass faster, either that or the distance was too much to cover, cause when we got at the entrance it was 8:15 already. Really bad management at the entry. You need age bands to get in, but there are no bands available. Like most, even we had to pickup crumpled, shoe stamped bands just to make our way in.

We finally got in just to hear DVLM say, "One last track,,, one last track.." A few minutes and even the last track was done. DVLM left Dance Garden and so did our hopes of an awesome night.

Feeling low, we waited for the next artist and the unexpected happen. The 'A' was there on the screen. The Afrojack 'A'.

OMG!! Afrojack was here. He was not able to come the previous day so he comes today and with him the Sunburn fever back.

Time rolled by then paused then rolled again, repeating the cycle and Sunburn came to an end. Never realized how almost 2 hours passed by. Words can never describe the feeling, few pics might, but a first hand experience is something every individual needs to have.
